What is included in the audit?

The audit has approximately 30 elements across 4 sections: Policy, Practises, Environment, and Training. There is also a questionnaire element to provide additional details about safety interventions. There is one version of the Audit for businesses with physical spaces and one version that is been adapted for events.

8 of these elements are considered mandatory and must be in place in order to get credentials. Mandatory items include sexual violence prevention policy, reporting tools, safety plans, and a Codes of Conduct.

The remainder of the elements are bonus, or as we are calling them, ‘Above & Beyond.’ These items include practical things that can make people feel safer: free period products, ‘drink-spiking’ prevention plans, policies regarding the ethical use of CCTV and more.

Businesses will have access to free training,* policy templates, print resources and other helpful tools to help them pass the audit. With the help of a second staff member, applicants complete the audit at their own pace. Our team is available to support with strategies to address missing items throughout the process. Find an info sheet here.

Why are we using ‘Credentialed‘ and not ‘Certified?’ Read about it here.

*Free training is limited and available on first-come-first-served basis.
