Patrons

When a business completes and passes an audit, it means they have been found to have at least the foundational tools to foster safer spaces. What this means for you is :

Safer Nightlife & Hospitality Spaces – Clear safety policies and trained staff create environments where customers feel protected from harassment and violence.

More Trust in Venues – Credentialed businesses doing ongoing work signal a commitment to safety, making customers more likely to return and recommend the space to others.

Better Staff Responses – Employees trained in prevention and intervention can handle incidents more effectively, ensuring a smoother guest experience, and its important for patrons to know staff have taken training.

Improved Overall Atmosphere – A strong safety culture leads to more respectful interactions, reduced disruptive behavior, and a more enjoyable social environment.

Greater Accessibility & Inclusivity – Standards for safer conditions benefit all patrons, particularly those from marginalized communities who often face higher risks.

By setting safety expectations and ensuring accountability, the audit tool sets businesses up create hospitality spaces where all customers feel welcome, respected, and safe.

A really important note: Last Call Credentials indicate that an establishment or event has been assessed by criteria set by Good Night Out Vancouver and the City of Vancouver. It means they have been given free and heavily discounted access to the tools and training necessary for preventing sexual violence and it is our hope that with the right tools, they will maintain a culture of proactive prevention, safety, and respect for patrons and customers.

Unfortunately, it is not a guarantee that these measures are being used consistently after the audit is completed and the Last Call project does reserve the right to remove the credentials from an establishment. Our goal is to equip venues with the resources to foster safer spaces, but the responsibility for active, ongoing implementation remains with the business. Credentials are considered expired at 14 months after issue.
